BIO:

Two White Kids:
Ricky Horton- Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Keys
Luke Hazel- Vocals, Drums, Keys, Percussion

Two White Kids gives a fresh perspective on popular music, with catchy hooks, danceable beats and real instruments viewed through a lens. It’s a little bit of the past, mixed with a little bit of the future.

Every instrument, lyric and melody were both written and performed by Ricky Horton and Luke Hazel.

Both Luke and Ricky come from very diverse musical backgrounds;having played just about every style from jazz to heavy metal at one point or another in their careers.

Having fallen in love with music at a very young age, Luke began as a drummer and Ricky as a guitar player. As their musical interests expanded, however, they both began singing and playing other instruments as well as producing, recording and songwriting. Never fully satisfied however, they both sought out even more musical education with Ricky attending Berklee College of Music in Boston and Luke attending Full Sail University in Orlando.

The two met in Jacksonville, FL, playing together in a local rock band, but after realizing the complications and wasted expenses of trying to work with a major labels and studios after their trip to Los Angeles with their previous project, they decided to take it upon themselves to make a record on their own with a fresh, new sound as an all-new project, Two White Kids.

With a no nonsense, no ego approach, Two White Kids wrote, recorded, produced and mixed their first EP all in their project studio in Jacksonville, FL.

Getting away from the tired sound of local rock, they set out to break new ground and create something that was more danceable and relevant to today’s music, while still incorporating elements of rock, funk and hip-hop that people will always love.

The record blends the sounds of classics from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s while using all the modern production techniques of current Pop, Hip-Hop and EDM records. Using real instruments alongside powerful synths and electronic textures, Two White Kids has a sound that is both familiar and totally unique. They call it “Metapop”.
