BIO
Hans Olding is one of Sweden’s most active and well-known jazz guitarists and has been heard on stages around Europe and the rest of the world during the last fifteen years with 5 records as leader or co-leader.The band in the video is Hans' quartet. They've been playing together on and of since 2001 and with Chris Montgomery on drums since 2008. Now Hans is working with another quartet with Swedish saxophone great Karl-Martin Almqvist, a quintet that plays arrangements of Brazilian 70's music with Icelandic saxophonist/flutist Sigurdur Flosason called Projeto Brasil!, and the octet, Stockholm Jazz Underground, and some other bands.
Hans also has toured and played concerts with well-known European musicians like Daniel Humair (FRA), Francesco Bearzatti (ITA), Jussi Kannaste (FIN), Mikko Innanen (FIN), Karl-Martin Almqvist (SWE), Magnus Broo (SWE), Jonas Kullhammar (SWE), Anders “AC” Christensen (DK), Fredrik Norén (SWE) and others, and received several grants for performance and composition. He’s a graduate from the Royal University College of Music in Stockholm and the CNSM de Paris.
