For over 30 years Dan Castle has left an indelible mark on the music industry. After stealing his brother’s guitar at a young age he became an accomplished member of the upstate New York music scene. After a period playing small clubs in many projects Dan grabbed the attention of an established local act, Tina Ward and the Matterbabies. Dan was offered a position filling in for one of his local idols that eventually turned into a permanent touring position with “The Matterbabies”. Dan was just 16 years old and already well on his rock and roll journey. After the unfortunate separation of The Matterbabies, Dan was a musical free agent. Following a desire to move into a heavier style of music and never one to stay still long he started “Pulse” in the late 90’s. During the same span Dan was performing on and contributing to countless sessions for other local acts. Pulse went on to grab the attention of many insiders including Sharon Osborne and Mike Cox from the Nu Metal legends, Coal Chamber. All the attention afforded Pulse the opportunity to move their base of operations to L.A. Deciding to remain on the East Coast, Dan parted ways with the band he had founded.

As so many musicians can relate, Dan was again on the lookout for the next big thing. As by the late 90’s Dan had drawn attention with his crazy stage antics and unique ability as a guitar player, it would not be long before the phone started ringing. Dan was sought out by multiple bands and eventually decided to join Bishop. That decision would lead to an East Coast U.S. tour along with a stop to rock the legendary MTV beach house Club LaVilla in Panama City Beach. Along the way Dan and Bishop enjoyed endorsements with Budweiser, Molson, Fernandes Guitars, DR Strings and more. Dan had worked hard to get here and was enjoying the ride.
In early 2001 Bishop co-headlined a short tour with the up and coming Wetwerks. Soon after wrapping that tour Dan was approached by Wetwerks to possibly join them on their eventual rise to the top. As an already established act with an arsenal of amazing songs, Dan did not hesitate to sign on. In a short time Wetwerks was sharing the stage with the likes of Sevendust, Filter, Hoobastank, Disturbed, Rob Zombie and too many others to count. After grinding on the road and releasing a number of well received LP’s Wetwerks released “Further than my eyes” in 2005. Further was picked up by programmers at Sirius XM radio where the band was played in heavy rotation. XM radio was linked to the 2005 Bon Jovi “Have A Nice Day” tour and Wetwerks was asked to open a sold out stop in their home town. Playing in front of 18,000 fans in an arena he always said he would, a dream come true.
Unfortunately that dream was short lived as later that year Dan suffered a major hand injury due to an industrial accident. Following two surgeries and months of rehab, Dan was left without knowing if we would ever play again. Overcoming obstacles was nothing new to Dan but this injury would stagger the resolve of even the most stubborn professional musician. After working hard to gain back partial use of his hand and restoring 100% use of his ego, Dan continues to this day to be a respected session artist and mentor to young musicians.
