"I'm stuck on the Meta Carbonates, they last forever! They've got such a great sound to 'em, they don't break! And they don't tear up the strings. you can do as much crazy stuff as you want to with them, it's where it's at." -Duane T Jones Swirl founder Duane T Jones was born in Iowa and raised in Alaska. "DT" began his musical journey on the violin, but made the switch to guitar after being introduced to the music of KISS. He cites Jake E. Lee, Warren DeMartini, George Lynch, Carlos Cavazo and Matthias Jabs as some of his strongest influences.

In the late 90s "DT" recorded the debut Swirl disc 'Out of Nowhere' with Carlos Cavazo and Matt Thorne producing. While on tour in the Mid-West in support of 'Out Of Nowhere' DT began his relationship with Pickboy and specifically the Metacarbonate pick. "It`s my weapon of choice. I have been recording and touring since 1998. Whether in the United States or Japan that pick is ALWAYS in my hand."

"Released on March 25, 2013 worldwide via iTunes, the new hard rock disc, ‘SWIRL’ demonstrates the same strong, powerful, hook laden, song writing that is synonymous with Swirl music, yet captured in a modern sound and production style that creates instantly memorable, emotionally impactful songs. Their songs are crisp and full of emotion. They are also catchy tunes with sustainability. They are full of radio friendly tunes, thick with rhythmic movements and hooks. “Fourth of July”, “Rise Up” and “Message” were instant hits with the bands rapidly expanding fan base, known as the Swirl Society."

The songs "Rise Up", "We Are Alive" and "Spell" from the 'SWIRL' release are featured in the movie 'Ditch Day Massacre' (2014). According to Swirl, the “Message” behind the music has to do with standing up for what you believe in. An asset that has served "DT" well throughout his career in rock n roll.

Welcome aboard, DT!
