Dario Deidda
Born in Salerno, Italy in 1968, Dario plays the electric and acoustic bass. He is best known for his work with many well-known jazz musicians but he always loves to play in other styles too. Music for Dario is God and must to be in 360° like all the great artists have done.
Dario has collaborated with many American and European musicians like Benny Golson, James Moody, George Coleman, George Garzone, Bob Mintzer, Tom Harrell, Carl Anderson, Mulgrew Miller, Jerry Bergonzi, Kirk Lightsey, Steve Turre, Alex Sipiagin, Lew Soloff, Vinnie Colaiuta, Jeanpierre Como, Paco Sery, Dede Ceccarelli, Bireli Lagrene, Randy Brecker, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Dave Liebman, Kenwood Dennard, Peter Erskine, Gene Jackson, Clyde Stubbfield, Jeff Tain Watts, Gil Evans Orchestra, Hiram Bullock, Alphonso Johnson, R.Gatto, M.Giammarco, U.Fiorentino, D.Rea, P.Fresu, E.Rava and many others. And some beautiful collaborations in popular music (Pino Daniele, Fiorella Mannoia, Ivano Fossati and a few others).
Dario's first album, "3 From The Ghetto," with Julian O. Mazzariello and Stephane Huchard, was produced by G.Telesforo and Ben Sidran for his label Go Jazz in 2003. Dario is working currently on his new album. Says Dario, "I have many of things to learn in music and life until my last day in this world."
Why is Dario using R.Cocco strings?
"They are the best strings in the world. Not just for the sound and touch but also the because of the owner. He is an artist. He continues to evolve and improve the strings. It's never enough for Mr. Alphonso Annecchiarico. He never thinks about the price first. He thinks about making the best quality strings. That's a true Artist!"
All the best, Dario Deidda
