Artist: Chris Davison
Chris began playing bass at the age of 10 when a close family friend and his parents gave him a P-bass and amp for Christmas. Obsessed from the start, Chris has study with many teachers including retired Berklee professor Joe Macaro.
To date, Chris has played in bands such as Tomorrows Past, Frank 'n' Davison, Industry Standerd, Zaritza, and The Inversion Circus. Early in the year Chris joined the country rock group American Road and they are writing a new album to be released in 2020.
Says Chris about Rockready Ultra straps, "As a six string player, my basses tend to be heavy and I often have to play for hours at a time. Rockready straps have really helped my shoulder stay in the game with no problems at all!"

Story: Enjoy it All
"One of the things about baseball, even going back as a player, that I've tried was to enjoy the crappy part of it too. If you're going to be in this life, I think it helps that you enjoy it all to some degree.”
— Aaron Boone
I'm a baseball fan and when I read the above quote by Aaron Boone it made me think about some of the things us musicians do to get ready for a gig. Those things are more or less the same whether you're playing for 5 people at the local pub or 5,000 people at an arena: practice, rehearse, load in, sound check, wait, perform, load out. Now there may be less heavy lifting on bigger gigs, but the basic formula is still the same.
My point is that no matter how much we like or think we like the performing part - the rock star part of being a musician, if we don't at some level enjoy the practicing, the rehearsing, the late nights, etc, we're not going to realize our dream of becoming a rock star. You may do all the practicing, rehearsing, and preparation and then get on the road and discover it's not for you.
The next time you find yourself complaining about loading in, loading out, getting home late, etc, remind yourself how much better it is to be loading in, loading out, etc then not. If that reminder sits well with you then you're probably doing the right thing.
