Hailing from Chicago, Michael Posch started playing, like many, at a young age. His influences are too many to mention, but must thank Randy Rhoads, Michael Schenker, John Denver, and Ritchie Blackmore for unlocking his musicality at important times in his growth.
Michael's rock/metal tastes found rewarding success as a founding member of RADAKKA, a Chicago-based prog/metal/rock quartet that boasted arena rock presence and multi-layered talent. The band had a successful run including releasing 2 discs "Malice and Tranquility" and "Requiem for the Innocent" to critical acclaim on the Century Media label.
Fairly quickly making a name for himself as a quality player and outstanding showman, Michael was also a student of music theory and a respected guitar instructor. In developing tools to aid his students in applying theory to the fretboard, he penned and self-published "Music Mechanics: 5 EZ Steps to Scales and Chords."
Michael has more recently put his growing list of talents to work as guitar player, song-writer, producer and wingman with PAMELA MOORE (known as Sister Mary from Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime legacy). Always seeming to center around a well structured guitar riff, Michael's playing and writing unfailingly have an air of pure passion and musicality whether painted in an unbridled aggressive groove or tranquil, soul-deepening ambiences.
In 2013, he co-wrote and recorded the full length disc "Pamela Moore-RESURRECT ME." Released on Rat Pak Records, Michael's writing and playing have synergized into a full form art, and the disc has met with great reviews citing the disc to be a power metal masterpiece.
Michael is currently in writing-phase for the follow-up album with Pamela, and at the same time is prepping to board and perform on the AXES and ANCHORS Cruise sailing Feb 20-24, 2016. Alongside guitar giants like Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde and Alex Skolnick, Michael will be performing 2 full sets with the Pamela Moore band, supporting the Resurrect Me disc and enjoying every minute.
Michael plays Pickboy Meta-Carbonate Jazz Pos-A-Grip picks for their feel and articulation, trusts his guitars to his Rockready Volo gig bags for travel and uses Taurus Stomp Heads for their portability to power ratio."
