"They stick to your fingers without being sticky. As they heat up in your fingers, they slide less and less. I haven't dropped a pick in 15 years." -Mark Alano
BIO: Hundreds of shows, countless cities and more than 54,000 miles touring…
Known for his time with the band REBELS WITHOUT APPLAUSE (EMA/Polydisc) , and MECCA (Frontiers), MARK ALANO is now concentrating his efforts full time on the band SLICK.
Started in 2002 as a side project, SLICK was formed by 4 of Chicago's most seasoned hard rock veterans. Comprised of former members of the bands RADAKKA (Century Media), REBELS WITHOUT APPLAUSE (Rhythm & Dues/IODA/Sony), and Erik Lauren and The Blue Blood Sinners, these musicians have created some hard rock with deep sludgy grooves and tight intricate vocals harmonies - Think “Alice In Chains meets Kings X.” Punishing guitars, thundering rhythm section, stellar vocals - all in one package...that’s SLICK.
As well as his guitar playing, Mark is a seasoned producer as well. He has produced albums for REBELS WITHOUT APPLAUSE and SLICK as well as MECCA's second release "Undeniable" which was released to outstanding reviews. The album also features Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel/King Crimson), drummer Pat Mastelotto (Mr. Mister/King Crimson), Eric Ragno (Keyboards) and guitar player Tommy Denander.
Most recently Mark was instrumental on the production of Pamela Moore's (Queensryche's Sister Mary) latest release "Resurrect Me" on Rat Pak Records.
SLICK's newest CD is set to be released late 2015.
Mark has used Pickboy Meta Carbonate picks exclusively for over 20 years.
“The material these picks are made of seems to adhere to your fingers as it heats up, but never feels sticky. I haven’t dropped a pick in 20 years!” -Mark Alano
