Wally Hustin

Chicago session ace bassist Wally Hustin recently was hired by Mecca (Frontiers Records) of Italy to record their sophomoric release “Undeniable.” During the sessions vocalist Joe Vana hired Wally on the spot to be a touring member. Quoting Vana, “Wally brought an energy to the sessions that made me realize we needed him as a permanent member.” Mecca’s album will be released by EMI in Italy on Nov 12th and in the US on Nov 29th. The album also features Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel), and drummer Pat Mastelotto (Mister Mister/King Crimson).

Wally’s bass credits include guitarist shredder Dave Uhrich whose new CD is scheduled for a fall 2011 release. Dave Uhrich and Wally Hustin's last release featured drummer Kenny Aronoff.

Wally has recorded or performed with Dave Mason (Traffic), Sons Of Cream featuring Kofi Baker (yes Ginger’s son), John Denver, Phoebe Snow, Rob Mullins (LA jazz artist), Tony Guerrero (LA jazz artist), David Benoit (smooth jazz), Mike Stern (Miles Davis), Vinnie Colaiuta (Zappa/Sting), Kenny Aronoff (Melancamp/John Fogerty), Todd Sucherman (Styx), Heligoats, Chuchito Valdez (latin jazz), Robert Irving III (Miles Davis), Eric Levy (Garaj Mahal), Carvin Winan (gospel), Bal and many more.

Wally is working on a solo release for 2012 that will showcase his love of playing bass!

Welcome aboard, Wally!
