Artist: Steve Kara
As lead guitarist for pioneering 60’s garage and psychedelic band The Electric Prunes, it’s up to Steve Kara to reproduce the far out sounds of those early studio records as well as pushing the envelope on more current releases.
The intro to their hit “I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night” poses some interesting challenges, but Steve manages nicely with his pedal board of over 50 pedals. When it’s not appropriate to bring the big pedal board, Steve employs a smaller board that does most of what he needs with several Mooer mini pedals and a Nobels ODR-1 in the mix.

Story: Take it Easy?
I just read an interesting article in the NYTime . Ironically, I read it online. The author abstained from online media and news sources for 2 months. His advice: "Get news. Not too quickly. Avoid social." Really good advice for all of us and perhaps a good test to see how "addicted" you might be to the buzzing and constant alerts of online media.
The routine I've been following lately is, check news from a reliable source once a day , close email program and check only once an hour, use social only for keeping in contact with friends and family. I have experienced more or less the same result as the author of the NY Times piece. That is, I have more time for family and friends, more time to practice the bass, more time for other hobbies, and I've read 3 books so far this year. Plus I feel more in control by choosing when to read the news and not let my day spiral out of control by whatever bee is in the bonnet of social media that day. If you're looking for the time to do some of things you don't seem to have time to do, take it easy and get news, not too fast, and not from social.
btw, here's the link to the original NYTimes article.
