It gives me great pleasure to present this special gift box. I've worked with Pickboy for over 20 twenty years and helped develop this product with the current President and my friend, Sadaaki Nakano. Pickboy found the new old stock for the Metacarbonate and GEAR picks in their warehouse just in time for the 50th Anniversary celebration. It was a stroke of good fortune as it helped us answer the question, "what special thing can we do for our loyal Pickboy customers." Re-issuing those unique and special picks from the '80s was an easy decision; packaging them in a hand numbered and signed gift box set was nearly just as easy.
Pickboy's founder, Shoji Nakano, founded the company 50 years ago. He started making guitar picks with the left over tortoise shell from umbrella handle production. In less than 10 short years Pickboy was one of the three largest pick manufacturers in the world. I had the pleasure of traveling to Tokyo and meeting Shoji Nakano once. Besides our love of guitar picks, we both shared a passion for cycling. Shoji was a fan of Japanese Keirin. If you haven't heard of it, it's happens to be one of the fastest and craziest sports you'll ever watch.

50th Anniversary Collector's Gift Box Set

This is a special Collector's Gift Box of Pickboy's Metacarbonate and GEAR re-issue picks produced for Pickboy's 50th Anniversary. Each Gift Box includes a set of six, one each of the re-issue picks, a custom handmade wood box, and a numbered Certificate of Authencity signed and stamped with family Natsuin by the President of Pickboy, Sadaaki Nakano. It is Japanese common to stamp name in red ink Natsuin instead of signature.
Pickboy made only 100 of these box sets. There is a limited quantity available.
