BIO :
At the ripe young age of 13, Ben Goldsmith has already accomplished much as a musician. Ben has mastered the guitar to a level that wows acclaimed pros. He has toured top Northeast and Midwest venues, appeared at Lollapalooza and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the School of Rock International All-Stars, and has plans to appear solo in Nashville and at Austin’s storied Antone’s this Summer. In 2018, Ben performed on two different occasions with Steve Vai. Ben wrote and recorded his first song “More Than Me” at age 11, and at the age of 12 wrote all the songs and played all instruments on his debut solo EP, No Kidding, recorded with Grammy nominated producer/engineer Greg Wurth (whose studio credits include Steve Vai, Mary J. Blige and other notables). He launched the Long Island-based rock power-trio “Sons of Sound” with fellow teens, for which he is the guitarist and primary singer. Ben is also the lead songwriter for the group, which has been acclaimed by Good Times Magazine, WPIX News and the LI Herald proclaiming the band "impress[es] beyond their years."
It's just the beginning for this impressive talent who started playing guitar at six (6) years old. Raised in a home rich with classic rock and pop as well as classical music, Ben began playing violin but quickly jumped to guitar, taught himself drums and keyboards, and showed a natural ability matched only by a level of dedication that augurs well for the future. He is currently in private guitar study with Andy Aledort and Berklee College of Music’s renowned professor Tomo Fujita. He continues honing his writing skills as the band builds its live audience and prepares to record their debut EP. In fact, Ben recently recorded a couple of his songs with Austin music royalty, Bruce Hughes on bass, Tommy Taylor on drums and Stuart Sullivan in the control-room. Ben has a goal of bringing what he calls "fresh rock" back into vogue with new generations, so don't be surprised if he succeeds in doing just that, given all he's already accomplished in just a few years.
